welcome

  • My name is Laurie Meseroll and I'm an artist and a mom. I like to paint and make stuff. In fact, I can't stop making stuff. I think I've always been that way. I blame it on my mother..

  • Please do not use my original photos, images of my paintings, any of my artwork or my writing without my written permission. I take the rights to my artwork very seriously and hope you will as well. Also note reproduction rights do not transfer with ownership. For example, you may not use one of my paintings for your Christmas cards because you bought a painting (I've seen it done). Besides, it's just so uncool. And it really gets on my nerves.

I love your work!!! Saw the ad in Mary Engelbreit's Home Companion and just ordered the Knitting Maiden painting. I'm an avid knitter and quilter. Keep up the wonderful art!

Hi darling,My grandmother taugh me how to make paints using mud, berries ect as a younin,so I mix the red Alabama mud or post hole mud with my paints, gives it a different texture,I have a painting on my blog,We have gotton some good rain, garden was canned befor hospital and Aunt Bea is getting settled in.All is well just the nausea is bad, I can get Nauzene over the counter and its GREAT,doesnt make me sleepy so I can visit with children and can get some art done. The portrait of the lady with brown back ground is the mud art.Whats going on in your neck of the woods?Fall is on the way here, cool mornings, sunny afternoons and tryes to rain in the late afternoon,I always tell folks when y'all are here in Alabama just wait a spell an the weather will change.tell me what your up to.xxoo

ubiquitous glitter in the studio

  • Tasiecutting
This is a bunch of images from my studio and my house. If anyone has heard a rumor about me painting in bed it's time for me to confess--it's true! I have paintings (not just sketchbooks) hidden under my bed and paint on almost every comforter and blanket in the house--I just like being cozy when I'm painting, y'know.

2007 paintings

  • 4132007a
Lots and lots of little girls this year. Tassie noted that since she's not living at home I don't seem to paint as many sisters...

2006 paintings

  • Wanttotalktoyou
    landscapes and architecturals

2005 paintings

  • The Math Lesson: 1+1=2
These are some of my favorite paintings--but I'm not sure if I have all the dates correct. This year I was very relaxed (odd because David and Jacob were going through puberty) so my paintings were very ethereal and dreamy. (Now that I think about it this may have been the year I discovered anti-depressants...)

pre-2003 paintings

  • Images of paintings from approximately 2000-2004--LOTS of wild, passionate colors--these were the years that Adam, Tassie and Josh were teenagers--fun! These were rather large (but not as enormous as my 1990's paintings)--most were 30 x 40 and completely mixed media--lots of acrylic and gouache. I will start a new album of papier maches if I can find enough images--if anyone out there that owns some could please send some pics I would really appreciate it--xxx000
